Overview

Guildford is located in the North-East section of the City of Surrey. It is centrally located within Metro Vancouver. The community of Guildford in Surrey, BC is a very active area that has a variety of housing stock centred around a couple of major commercial corridors.  The main commercial anchor of Guildford is the Guildford Town Centre regional mall.  Guildford is a unique blend of urban, suburban and rural landscapes.

Location

Guildford is the gateway to Surrey.  The location of Guildford is very prime with respect to it’s connectivity to many communities in Metro Vancouver and the Fraser Valley via Highway 1.  Access to Hwy 1 via 152 street is very convenient and easy, making a trip to Vancouver a breeze.  Guildford is adjacent to the Whalley and Fleetwood neighbourhoods.  

Guildford is dissected by Highway 1 but also encompasses the prestigious Fraser Heights neighbourhood which is North of the Highway.  It also includes the currently semi-rural Port Kells area, which will be developing in the not so distant future.

Parks

No park in Guildford is more of a draw for area residents than Tynehead Park.  This park attracts bikers, joggers, walkers, dog walkers and others.  The park has an almost 5 km paved walkway that loops around a large section of the park.  It is an escape from suburbanism that helps rejuvenate like only being in nature can.

Guildford has many other smaller parks as well; too many to name.  Like other parts of the city, escaping into a park is easy to do in Guildford.

Recreation

Residents in and around Guildford are blessed with a recently built amazing aquatic centre that is a part of the impressive Guildford Recreation Centre property.  The community centre includes a library, fitness facility, indoor track, huge gymnasiums and is overall a bustling place for people to learn, meet and be active.  The facility is directly (conveniently) across from the Guildford Town Centre mall and is the main recreational building in the area.

Summary

Guildford is arguably the best connected community in Surrey to the rest of Metro Vancouver.  It is a prime location with a wonderful commercial core, anchored by Guildford Town Centre, an amazing recreation centre and a large regional park in Tynehead that is a big draw.  If you are a commuter, the access to Hwy 1 and 152 street cannot be beat.  The mix of housing options affords different types of home buyers many options to choose from.
