In a time of climate change, more and more home insurance companies are scrutinizing the climate resiliency of the properties and homes they insure.  Canada seems to be lagging behind the US in terms of climate risk ratings for homes and their locations.  That may eventually change as insurance companies deem more and more areas too risky to insure altogether or perhaps charge punishingly high premiums to reflect the higher risk associatied with vulnerable places.
