Abbotsford: Affordable Entry Point for First Time Buyer

I continue to maintain that all hope is not lost for a first-time buyer looking to enter the Fraser Valley housing market, in order to be within reasonable range of Metro Vancouver residential real estate.

To me, buying a condo apartment in Abbotsford is a logical way to get on the Metro Vancouver region's property ladder. It is a reasonable way to begin building equity over time, that will later allow for a step up to a higher tier property such as a townhouse.

Below is a graph showing price trends for 1 bedroom resale condos in Abbotsford. 

With an average resale price for a 1 bedroom condo at about $360,000 as of December 2023, the price point is probably accessible to many prospective home buyers.

As I wrote about on my website, Abbotsford is a very desirable and growing community. It has a variety of housing types, both new and established, with many quiet and peaceful areas. Moreoever, it has all the amenties that pretty much any other Metro Vancouver suburb has.
